Bryan Belisle
Co-Head Coach / Assistant Defensive Coordinator
Bryan Belisle, a Dolphin quarterback from ‘81 to ‘85 and former South Burlington Rebel, was a coach from ‘00 to ‘13 with the South Burlington Dolphins during which time he worked his way from quarterbacks coach to associate head coach of the 7th and 8th grade team by ‘09. The son of long-time Dolphin defensive coordinator, Richard E Belisle (‘81 to ‘06), and long-time videographer, Nancy Belisle (‘81 to ‘13), and father to former Dolphin quarterback/strong safety and defensive captain, Brianna Belisle (‘07 to ‘15), Bryan has a broad knowledge of the game of football and will serve in many capacities throughout the coaching structure with primary emphasis on linebackers and secondary. Bryan, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and his wife, Cindy Parker Belisle, live in South Burlington with their daughters Brianna and Chelsi.

Russell Humphrey
Co-Head Coach / Defensive Coordinator
Russell Humphrey, a former tight end for the Burlington Seahorses, an offensive lineman/tight end for the Vermont Ice Storm and the Plattsburgh North Stars, was a coach from ’13 to ’17 with the South Burlington Dolphins during which time he was the offensive line coach and defensive coordinator of the 7th and 8th grade team. As a player, Russell was fortunate to be part of two league titles with the Vermont Ice Storm and two National Championship titles for the same in addition to being the defensive coordinator for the Plattsburgh North Stars National Championship team in ’14. In addition to being a co-head coach, Russell will serve as the defensive coordinator for the Dolphins.

Matt Villanti
Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line
Grew up in Williston, Vermont and played for the Dolphins from 2000 to 2003, winning a state championship in 2003 (arguably the most dominate class in Dolphin history). Matt played right guard at the United States Military Academy (Army) for three seasons, winning the 2011 Armed Forces Bowl and one season with Lenoir Rhyne University, leading the team to its first undefeated regular season and 2014 SAC Championship. After playing, Matt served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Lenoir Rhyne for two seasons focusing on offensive line along with strength and conditioning. In addition to being named the assistant offensive coordinator for the Dolphins, Matt will also serve as the offensive line coach where he will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge. Matt recently moved back to Vermont and lives in Colchester with his wife Morgan and two dogs Beau and Pax. Matt a project manager at Villanti Printers in Milton.
Joshua Carey
5th/6th Head Coach
Joshua Carey, a former player for the Burlington Seahorses, graced the field as both Quarterback and Defensive Back from 2004 to 2007, garnering valuable experience that laid the foundation for his coaching acumen. A standout Varsity starter for three years, Carey’s dedication and skill culminated in a triumphant D2 State Championship victory. His exceptional contributions were acknowledged with a Second Team All-State Defensive Back title. In 2013, Carey showcased his versatility as a Safety and Cornerback with the Vermont Ravens. His prowess translated seamlessly to coaching, where he directed the Winooski Youth program’s 7th & 8th grade teams in 2010. Since 2020, Carey’s involvement with the Dolphins program has flourished, paralleling his sons Jackson and Teagan’s football journey. This testament to his commitment highlights his role in nurturing the next generation of athletes.
Jerrall Sinclair
Defensive & Offensive Line
Jerrall Sinclair, a former Dolphin and three year varsity letterman at defensive tackle for SouthBurlington Rebels, where he participated in the North-South Senior game as well as the Vermont Shrine Team. After high school, Jerrall’s playing career extended to Castleton State University where Jerrall earned all-conference honors as a freshman defensive tackle, an honor never previously bestowed on a freshman athlete to that point. Jerrall is returning to the staff in 2022 as the defensive line coach and he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to aspiring defensive linemen in the cityof South Burlington.

Javen Sears
Media Director / Wide Receivers / Defensive Backs
Meet Javen Sears, a former South Burlington Dolphin and standout alumni of South Burlington High School’s class of ’20. Javen has always had a keen eye for detail, beginning with his passion for breaking down game films since the 7th grade. His attention to detail has helped him achieve many accolades throughout his football career, including earning 2nd Team All State as a wide receiver and receiving the Unsung Hero Award in his senior year.
Currently, Javen is a sophomore at the University of Vermont, where he serves as the President for the Club Football team and their starting Quarterback. In addition to his athletic achievements, Javen is also a social media mastermind. He is responsible for managing the South Burlington Dolphins’ social media presence on all platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. With his flair for creativity and video editing skills, Javen has earned the nickname “The Movie Magic Man.”
Javen’s dedication to the sport of football, his attention to detail, and his leadership skills have made him a valuable asset to both the University of Vermont’s Club Football team and the South Burlington Dolphins organization. We are proud to have Javen as part of our team and look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the future.

Nicole Downey
Head Cheer Coach
Has coached cheer for over a decade now and has been with the Dolphins since 2013. Nicole has sent dozens of highly competitive cheerleaders to the local high school, SBHS, that went on to become dominant state champs and if not has always kept the school in the conversation. This will be Nicole’s 10th year leading the Dolphins cheer squad and they are extremely excited to compete later this fall!
Alec Leclair
Assistant Coach – Wide Receivers / Defensive Backs
Alec Leclair, a native of South Burlington, Vermont, began his football journey as a Dolphin quarterback from 2011 to 2015, even playing for the 8th grade team in 2018. In high school, he excelled as a standalone wide receiver and defensive back for the SBHS/BHS Seawolves football team, graduating in 2023. During his high school career, Alec showcased his skills on the varsity team. His sophomore year marked his debut as a varsity starter, displaying his talent at receiver and safety. He amassed an impressive offensive statline; 856 yards receiving, 55 receptions, and 12 touchdowns. Alec’s leadership qualities shone through in his junior year when he was named one of three team captains. He exemplified dedication on and off the field, maintaining an outstanding GPA of 4.1 in the classroom. After graduating in the class of ’23, Alec decided to take a gap year to discover his true path. Now, he is joining our coaching staff, bringing his unwavering dedication, hard work ethic, and genuine commitment to fostering P.R.I.D.E in individuals. With Alec’s presence, we have a coach who not only strives for personal excellence but also believes in transforming others into the best versions of themselves.
Joey Mount
Assistant Coach / Offensive Line
Joey Mount, hailing from the locales of Colchester and South Burlington, Vermont, began as a formidable force on the offensive and defensive lines from 2010 to 2017. He left an indelible mark with the Colchester Catamounts, South Burlington Dolphins, and South Burlington Rebels. Joe’s adaptability shone as he seamlessly transitioned between various offensive lineman positions and effectively played roles ranging from nose guard to defensive end. Notably, his football acumen extends beyond—he’s recognized as a glorified 3rd string QB and possesses insightful knowledge about tight ends. Now residing in South Burlington with his wife Morgan, their new arrival Luca, and three cat companions (Biggie, Harlow, and Cleo), Joe Mount’s commitment to the game and his cherished family fuels his enduring passion for football.
Ronnie Corey lll
Assistant Coach / Running Backs
Ronnie Corey III, whose football journey began at the age of 6, showcased his tremendous versatility and relentless determination. As a South Burlington Rebel, Wolf, and Seawolf in high school, Ronnie defined his running back prowess. Notable moments include a staggering 200+ yards rushing, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in a standout game again North Country his senior year. He also excelled defensively with 11 tackles and 1 forced fumble. His narrative expanded as he embraced kicking in his final high school year, adding to his running back and cornerback responsibilities. Small in size but brilliant in impact, he’s left an unforgettable mark. Beyond football, Ronnie pursued Mechanical Engineering at VTC. As a running back and secondary coach for the SB Dolphins, his new role reflects his deep game understanding and teaching. Ronnie’s journey epitomizes passion and an unyielding spirit, inspiring excellence in sports and life’s pursuits.
Gordon Lewis
Equipment Coordinator / Operations Support Expert
A former Dolphin Defensive Lineman from 1996-1998 and Green Mountain Gladiators Defensive Lineman, “Gordy” has been running the Dolphins operations for several years now making sure to keep everything in the background running smoothly. If there’s a problem, he’s on it and it’s gone before you know it.Gordon is the equipment coordinator and operational support expert.
