Should I give the ledger to Ezra or Artem? ›

Generally, we recommend most builds give the ledger to Erza.

This will give you the Avarice gloves, a powerful early-game Unique that will significantly increase your survivability. The guaranteed leech from elemental damage, paired with the free elemental resistances, is too good to pass up.

Artem's Offer reward

Giving the ledger to Artem instead rewards you with the Gambler's Fallacy Unique amulet, which increases your Critical Strike Chance by 100 percent if you haven't dealt a Critical Strike recently.

You'll get Avarice only if you complete the Erza's Ledger quest. If you want Gambler's Fallacy, you'll need to talk to Artem first instead of Erza and give the elder's ledger to him.

Gambling for items is a classic part of old-school ARPGs, and it remains a feature in Last Epoch. Earning items through gambling isn't a surefire way to get better items, nor will it give you Uniques, but it can help early-game players find upgrades for their build.

You can earn Avarice by completing the "Erza's Ledger" quest by giving the ledger to Erza, not Artem the Gambler. This quest is unlocked upon reaching The Council Chamber hub area in Chapter 2 of the campaign. When you first walk into town, speak to Elder Erza on the western edge of town.
