Chapter Text

It was a warm, sunny day. The Fletchlings were chirping happily and the students of Uva Academy were enjoying their sweet time out in the sun. You were outside as well, sat down at a table and bench with your partner pokemon, Dachsbun sleeping peacefully on your lap. There was thirty minutes until you had to teach your next class. You smiled, watching the students enjoying themselves along with their pokemon in the lovely warm weather. You wanted to join them and have fun, but it would be unprofessional for a teacher to run around like a young child, and it would probably earn you a scolding from either Director Clavell or the top champion.

Sighing, you pulled out a book and began to read. It was a copy of the famous Violet book, said to be written by an exploration team that were brave enough to venture down into the great crater of Paldea. As you began reading, you heard someone sit down next beside you. You looked up and saw your friend, Raifort. She was the history instructor of the academy and a specialist in ghost/dark pokemon.

"Hello (y/n). How are you?" she asked, watching your movements. "Hi Raifort, I'm fine. How r' you doing?" you said. "I'm doing fine. Finally got a break from my class. What book are you reading?" she asked, eying the book in your hands. "The Violet book." you answered simply.
"Oh, I've read that before. But the tale of the ruinous treasures have always intrigued me more." she said. You rolled your eyes. She always did have that fascination of the four treasures that apparently destroyed a whole castle by morning. "Speaking of the ruinous treasures. Guess what, (y/n)? I've finally found a shrine. It think it's the one where Ting-lu is sealed." she whispered, looking around suspiciously making sure nobody was listening.

"Woah, cool." you said quietly, being careful not to catch any attention. "I know. I was thinking after school hours at night, me and you could sneak out to the shrine and potentially catch Ting-lu." she suggested. You shook your head. "What if we get caught? The director would probably sack us. Plus, you need them staffs to open the shrine." you said. Raifort raised her eyebrows at you. "Don't worry, because of my bond with Gengar, I was able to get the staffs. Don't ask how I managed to get them withought being caught out of school either, that's a long story." she explained.

You shook your head again and sighed. "I don't want to go with you, Raifort. I don't want to risk losing my job because I love teaching the students and the other instructors are so nice, I'd hate to say goodbye to them." you said. Raifort placed her hand on your shoulder. "Please (y/n)-" she started but a sudden voice cut her off.

"Hi (y/n)!" came Salvatore's voice. You turned and smiled when you saw him. He was another good friend of yours, but students often assumed you and him were dating because of your closeness, meaning you had to explain that you were just friends and also that Salvatore already had a wife.

"Hi Salvatore." you said while Raifort scowled. He approached you with his little pawmi on his shoulders. "Sorry to be a bother, but I need some advice on fairy type pokemon. My wife wants a fairy type Pokemon so bad and I know nothing about them. But since you have your Dachsbun, I was wondering if you knew anything that could help me." he asked. You was about to answer but Raifort spoken up. "Fairy types are weak to steel types so I suggest using a Bisharp or Copperajah to weaken it. Now will you kindly leave me and (y/n) alone now?" she said harshly. Salvatore narrowed his eyes. "I was asking (y/n), not you." he snarled.

"Okay okay. I've got another class soon and I can't be dealing with you two acting like bickering children." you said as you stood up. "Raifort, I'll talk to you later. Let me help Salvatore right now." you said as you walked away with Salvatore at your side.

"What fairy types are you aiming to catch?" you asked him. "I don't know, do you have any suggestions?" he said. "I'd suggest a Fidough or a Klefki. There fairly easy to catch and are good fairy types as well." you said with a smile. "A Klefki? Yeah that'd be Perfecto! Thank you (y/n), mi buen amigo!" he said while pulling you into a tight hug. "No problem, Salvatore. Use a Pawniard or a Magneton if you find a Klefki." you said while patting his back quickly but softly. "¡Gracias! Amigo." he said before letting go of you and walking away. The bell rang and you knew it was time to go to your next class.

Raifort watched as you and Salvatore hugged. She didn't like it one bit. You was hers! Only hers! Nobody else should touch your perfect body but her! Even if they were just friends! She clenched her fists in anger. "I've got plans for you Salvatore...just you wait." she said quietly, making sure nobody could hear.

The time was 9:47pm and the students who slept at the academy were long asleep. So were some of the instructors. You were layed on your bed, watching a video about the undefeated reigning champion in the Galar region. Suddenly, you got a text. It was from Salvatore. '(Y/N), meet me at Groundblight shrine. I'll send you the location' -Salvatore

You wondered. 'What is he doing at the shrine? Wasn't he after fairy types for his wife? Why even is he out of the academy at night? ' you asked yourself. You quickly through your shoes on and grabbed your pokeballs and quietly crept through the halls of the academy. Once you were outside, you sent out your Cyclizar and began riding towards Groundblight shrine. Once you arrived, you called Cyclizar back to its pokeball and looked around. You heard someone sobbing. There was a trail of blood and you followed it, your face growing paler by the second. It brought you to the shrine and it was not Salvatore as you was expecting.

It was Raifort. She was stood over someone with a knife clutched in her hands. Lay infront of her, was Salvatore. His eyes had been gouged out and he was the one that had been sobbing. Next to Raifort, was a strange pokemon that resembled something like a moose. You could only assume it was Ting-lu. You was about to run away but a twig snapped. Raifort turned around and grinned in a disturbing way.

"Ahhh, (y/n). Your finally here. I caught Ting-lu! Are you proud?" she asked. You shook your head while tears were on the verge of pouring from your eyes. "What did you do to Salvatore?" I asked, staring at the killer. "He was in the way, darling.I convinced him to come with me here by telling him Klefki appeared around here but only at night. He was insufferable enough to believe it. Then I ripped his eyes out with my knife and let him bleed out while I battled and caught Ting-lu. I wanted you to be here so I sent you that text, pretending to be Salvatore so you'd actually come." she explained sad*stically. Salvatore sobbed even louder. "Run (y/n), she's insane." he sobbed out. "Oh do shut up. Infact, Ting-Lu, end his suffering will you?" Raifort said.

Your eyes widened as Ting-Lu marched its way over to Salvatore and lifted it's foot over his head. "NO!" you screamed but it was too late. Ting-Lu stamped on Salvatore's head, crushing it. Raifort walked over and pulled you close to her. "Don't cry honey, he was in the way." she said. You tried to push her away but it was no use.

"Let me go you crazy bitch!" you screamed. Raifort narrowed her eyes and she tightened her hold on you. "Behave yourself (y/n) or a punishment will be administed." she said. You thrashed in her hold, desperate to get away. "Hm, it seems we are doing this the hard way." she said. "Ting-Lu, knock her out." she commanded. Raifort let go of you as the legendary made it's way over. You were pushed to the ground and the pokemon lifted it's foot above your head, much like it had done to Salvatore. Before you knew it, it brought it's foot down but only hard enough to knock you out, not to kill you.

When you awoke, you was in a lab and Raifort was beside you. "Hello honey." she greeted, pulling you close to her. You tried to protest but felt so tired that you just couldn't. " "Where is Dachsbun? And where are the other pokemon?" you asked concerned. You feared that something bad had happend to your precious Dachsbun. "Don't worry, Professor Turo has put them somewhere safe." she said. Professor Turo? What? "What do you mean, 'Professor Turo'?" you said, looking at the crazy woman. "Professor Turo said that I could hide down here with you if I helped him with the paradox pokemon." she explained. "W-What are you on about? Where are we?" you asked. Raifort just gave you a creepy smile.

"Why we're in area zero!" she exclaimed. Your eyes widened in shock. Area zero? No, that place was off limits! "And now that we're here together, we may as well have some fun." she said. She pinned you down so suddenly and you began to thrash but it was no use. 'Please someone come and help me' you thought.
